Born and raised in Seattle, Brandi grew up in awe of the Blue Angels. She took her first flight in her grandfather鈥檚 small plane, and later earned most of her certificates, in Auburn, WA. Her flight instruction career started while living in Billings, MT. Her favorite part of instructing is watching her students step out of the airplane after their first solo 鈥� each reaction unique to the student.

Jim began flight training in the U.S. Navy in 1968, but insists he鈥檚 not quite done yet. Type rated in the Boeing 737, 757, 767 and 777 as well as the LearJet, he believes there is always more to learn. He鈥檚 been interested in aviation his whole life; one of the earliest conversations he remembers having with his father was whether airplanes could land on clouds or not. He feels being able to pass along his vast experiences from Naval to civil aviation to his students is one of the best benefits of being an instructor.

Bruce grew up in an Air Force family and believes flying is in his DNA. He learned to fly in Spokane, Washington, while he was still in high school. Bruce loves seeing all the pieces of this sometimes complicated undertaking suddenly click with his students.

After earning his Private Pilot Certificate here at Galvin in 2017, Nick went on to earn his Commercial Certificates at Embry-Riddle along with a bachelor鈥檚 degree. He became interested in flying after he decided he wanted to pursue a scientific degree but didn鈥檛 want to spend a lifetime behind a desk. Nick feels that flying is the perfect combination of technical knowledge and hands on application. His favorite part of instructing is being able to work with people. Every student is a little different and he enjoys tailoring a lesson to an individual and seeing them succeed.

Alexis graduated from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University with a Bachelor of Science in Aeronautical Science and all her certificates and ratings. She had initially started flying during her gap year prior to medical school, but soon fell in love with flying and decided to change her career path. Alexis appreciates the continual challenges and learning opportunities that aviation provides. She strives to push her limits and improve herself constantly. As a CFI, Alexis is highly motivated to help see her students through from having zero flight experience to earning their certificate.

Amanda grew up with a grandfather that was an Air Force Crew Chief and has always loved travel and aviation. In 2017, she started working as a flight attendant for American Airlines and in 2018, began her flight training journey. Amanda earned her Private Pilot Certificate in Apple Valley, CA, then completed the rest of her training in Memphis, TN. She even earned her Commercial Seaplane Certificate from Kenmore Air! Amanda loves watching people grow and develop skills in all aspects of life. So, naturally, as a flight instructor she relishes in her role of helping others achieve their goals and reach new milestones in their training!

Bridget learned to fly at Galvin. She earned her Private Pilot Certificate, flying only on the weekends, and in about 18 months. She earned her Instrument rating and Multi-engine, Commercial, Seaplane, and flight instructor certificates in the years that followed. Her desire to embrace aviation stems back to the day she met an astronaut in the fourth grade. She鈥檚 been tied to the sky ever since. Her very favorite part of instructing today is seeing her students make a vital connection that makes things come together for them.

David learned to fly in Fort William, Ontario, and holds both Canadian and FAA licenses. His desire to fly was developed early, listening to bush flying tales in Northern Ontario as a youth. When it comes to teaching, he loves not only observing how different students learn differently, but also the ability to learn from each student in return.

Grace learned to fly in the beautiful Pacific Northwest. She started her private certificate in Renton, then completed instrument, commercial, and CFI here at 蜜桃传媒. Grace started her aviation journey as a flight attendant. She enjoyed being in the sky and loved everything that flying has to offer. So, she set her sights on the cockpit. The thing that most excites Grace about instructing is spreading her love of aviation. She hopes she can be someone to inspire young girls to become pilots!

A private pilot herself, Robin learned to fly in Long Beach, California, and Renton, Washington. When it comes to what inspired her, she claims to have been inflicted with a congenital case of the flying bug. She truly enjoys ground instructing, sharing her passion for aviation and helping people learn and succeed at their dreams.

Ruben earned his Private Pilot Certificate in Auburn, WA, and later all additional certificates here at Galvin. His love for airplanes, as well as his first goose bumps and teary eyes at the sight of anything that flies, started at a young age growing up in Yuma, AZ. With multiple military bases nearby, he was able to see jets, helicopters, and hear the roaring of engines flying overhead on a regular basis. Some of his greatest memories growing up were going to the airshows and talking to the pilots. Seeing how much they loved what they did for a living, he knew this is what he wanted to do. What he loves most about instructing is the challenge. Having students from a variety of age groups and backgrounds forces him to constantly be on his toes, thinking of new methods to get the same lesson taught in different ways.

Michael earned his private certificate and instrument rating at Crest Air Park. He ended up obtaining his commercial and flight instructor certificates here at 蜜桃传媒. Michael says he has always been interested in flying, even when he was a young kid. The real hook was at the age of 16 when his uncle bought him an introductory flight lesson. From that moment, he knew he wanted to be a pilot. After working in the family business for 7 years, he finally decided to make the leap to begin his career in flying. He鈥檚 never looked back. Michael loves teaching people to fly and help them do what they love, too.

Toby鈥檚 interest in flying came from childhood visits to the Museum of Flight, checking out the Blackbird, the Boeing 737, and even the flying car! He came to Galvin to earn his Private Pilot Certificate before heading off to college at Big Bend Community College in Moses Lake, WA. There, Toby earned his Instrument Rating, Commercial and Flight Instructor Certificates. Having grown up in the area, Toby truly enjoys instructing in the Pacific Northwest where he is able to share the beauty and excitement of the region as seen from the skies.

Michael learned to fly at Action Flying Service in Coeur d鈥橝lene, Idaho. He loves sharing his passion to fly with his students.听听

Katrina learned to fly in Pennsylvania and Connecticut and earned an aviation degree at the University of New Haven. She initially became interested in flying because she loved to travel; once she took her first flight lesson, she was hooked. Her favorite thing about instructing is seeing the student learn something they鈥檝e been struggling with. That light-bulb moment is very rewarding for both of them.

Josh grew up surrounded by planes and pilots in North Texas. After getting his degree and working in the medical field for several years, he went on a discovery flight here at Galvin. He immediately fell in love with flying and knew he wanted to pursue a career in aviation. After earning his Private Pilot certificate and Instrument Rating in Denton, Texas, Josh completed his Commercial and Flight Instructor training where he first fell in love with flying, here at Galvin. As an instructor he most enjoys watching people fall in love with flying for the first time, making a meaningful impact on students鈥� learning, and consistently getting breathtaking views of the Pacific Northwest.

Ziming started his private pilot training while stationed in Honolulu, Hawaii, as a combat medic specialist for the US Army. 听After his initial service, he joined the reserves and his family brought him to Seattle. Here in Seattle he obtained his instrument rating, commercial pilot certification and flight instructor certificate with 蜜桃传媒. Ziming really enjoys flying to different areas to experience the local culture, food and sights. To be able to explore the world is what continuously drives him. As a flight instructor, Ziming takes pride in helping students experience their first solo landing, the first big step in obtaining their pilot license!

Ryan is a third-generation pilot. His father is a private pilot, and his paternal grandfather has a commercial pilot’s license. His maternal grandfather was conscripted into the Royal Air Force in World War II and would have been a part of the last wave of defense for Britain, but fortunately the war ended before he had to see any real combat. Because of all this, aviation has been a constant part of discussion and interest in Ryan鈥檚 family since he was a kid. He earned his Private Pilot鈥檚 license here at Galvin before moving back to Pullman to finish a degree at WSU. He completed his training through a national training provider while he moved around the country. Before becoming a flight instructor, Ryan was a sergeant in the US Army Reserves and enjoyed being a resource for, and helping junior enlisted soldiers develop their goals. He says it’s the same with instructing. 鈥淚 enjoy being a part of others achieving their goals and playing a firsthand role in developing the next generations of pilots. The great thing about flight instruction is that it combines my two joys: flying and teaching!鈥�

JD took his first flight at 9 years old and received his first certificate three months after his 17th birthday, paying for every hour by washing dishes and busing tables in restaurants. He received all his training in Carlsbad, CA, and over the years has added helicopter, single engine sea and UAS to his commercial certificate. JD loves sharing the experience of flight and watching his students鈥� confidence grow as they gain their pilot skills.

When Tim was 15 years old, his dad took him flying and to his first airshow at Whidbey Island Naval Air Station. It was there he saw the Blue Angels perform, along with an F-15 demo. He was hooked and immediately started taking lessons at Chuckanut Aviation at Skagit Regional Airport. With the early start, he was able to solo at 16 and earn his license at age 17. When asked what he likes best about instructing, he claims, 鈥淓ach time I fly I still feel like that 15-year-old flying for the first time. I am truly amazed by the wonders of flight – defying the laws of gravity; the views out of the cockpit; operating a complex machine; constantly working on my skills knowing I will never completely master the art of flying; and sharing all of that with a student is the icing on the cake!鈥�

Carol Anne grew up in Atlanta, where many of her friends鈥� parents were pilots for Delta or Eastern Airlines, and many went on to become pilots themselves. Having been around aviation her entire life, she never thought about taking lessons until, on a whim, took a seaplane discovery flight here in Seattle. It was on that day she fell head-over-heels in love with flying. Carol Anne earned her private pilot certificate at Paine Field in Everett, then earned her advanced ratings here at Galvin. Her favorite part of instructing is getting creative about explaining complex concepts to students, and seeing the light in their eyes when they understand.

Ben wanted to be an astronaut as a kid. When he was 10, he started playing Flight Sim on his father鈥檚 laptop, and really started trying to learn to fly around 15. It wasn鈥檛 until college, when he found someone trying to start a flying club, that he took an intro flight. As the only student to join the club, Ben trained and completed his first solo at Northampton Airport (where both Charles Lindbergh and Amelia Earhart spent time flying) in Massachusetts. Ben loves seeing students correlate concepts for that 鈥渁h-ha!鈥� moment. He says that in that instant, you can see a simple measure of enjoyment which triumphs over the effort they put in to get there.

Treyton grew up in Washington state and has family in Hawaii. When he was younger, he would regularly fly across the Pacific to visit, making sure to get a window seat. These trips are what initially piqued his interest in flying. However, Treyton didn鈥檛 consider aviation an attainable career as he didn鈥檛 have any family members that were involved in the field. On one of those summer Hawaii visits, he decided to take an introductory flight. It was that intro flight and the regular journeys to visit family that convinced Treyton the dream of a flying career was possible. He learned to fly at Big Bend Community College in Moses Lake. He likes watching his students progress from zero experience to soloing for the first time and earning their private pilot certificate, knowing that he helped someone achieve their dreams.

Maayan grew up around aviation. Her father is a pilot, and she always knew she wanted to fly at some point. However, only after going to university and working as a geologist for a few years did she realize her true passion was aviation and decided it was time for a career change.听Maayan learned to fly at Galvin, earning her Private, Instrument and Commercial from what she says were 鈥渞eally good instructors鈥�. You might say she became attached. Just ask her which plane is her favorite! Maayan feels the best part of instructing is seeing a student succeed in performing a maneuver or task that they struggled with before. She also really likes drawing from her experience as a tailwheel and seaplane instructor to help students become better stick and rudder pilots.

The son of a flight attendant, Gokay鈥檚 childhood was filled with airplanes. His love developed into a career as an aircraft engineer. He began learning to fly in 2005, and after a break, received his ratings in the last few years. His favorite part of flight instructing is his students鈥� enthusiasm. Their excitement makes for a fun work environment and he loves helping them achieve their dreams.

Harvey learned to fly in Pullman, Washington, and has since built flight experience in 37 different general aviation aircraft models during his career. His inspiration for taking flight was his WWII Navy pilot father who taught him to fly after he retired. Harvey loves watching his students discover the joy of flight and gain confidence.

A Gold Seal flight instructor, Wayne is a life-long aviator. He grew up at his family鈥檚 FBO in Wyoming, earning his private license at the age of 17. He鈥檚 since owned his own FBO in Idaho and has worked in aircraft sales. Wayne鈥檚 favorite part about being a flight instructor is working with and sharing aviation with people of all ages.

Bob learned to fly in Renton, Washington, building his land and sea airplane ratings. The aviation bug bit Bob early. He remembers looking at an airplane when he was about 4 years old and the dream took root. Bob loves sharing the amazing experience of flight with his students, helping them fall in love with aviation.

Ryan is enrolled in the degree program at South Seattle College for A&P certification. He comes from a background in electrical, but has shifted his interest to aircraft maintenance as he has always had a love for aviation. He loves the Blue Angels and drones. Ryan has always loved puzzles, working with his hands, and a variety of challenges. With his background, he is intrigued by the electrical side of aircraft maintenance and is especially suited for work in avionics.

Before he came to Galvin, David spent several years in parts at Toyota. He received some instruction in Toyota鈥檚 T-Ten training program and an apprenticeship with a Toyota Master Tech. Having always loved being around aircraft, he earned his Private Pilot Certificate. With almost 10 years of experience coordinating maintenance for our flight school fleet, David enjoys the opportunity to have a direct impact in the organization and watch real progress and growth occur.

After tiring of his job as a baggage handler for various contracted airlines, Chris was told about an A&P course at Chandler-Gilbert Community College by a coworker. Chris joined and completed the program, becoming fully A&P certified in October of 2011. Since then he has worked in all sorts of aircraft maintenance operations including an Emergency Medical Services (EMS) outfit, a Cirrus service center, and a helicopter tour company operating in and out of the Grand Canyon and Hoover Dam. He later worked for a couple of commercial regional carriers, giving him further experience with turbo props and turbo fans, before joining the Galvin team. What Chris likes best about his job is seeing the happy faces of customers and watching the aircraft go off on their next adventure after maintenance is complete.

With a degree in electrical engineering, Je worked in Korea for Samsung. After several years, he realized he was suffering from burnout and needed something to refresh his mind. He decided that he would like to live abroad and learn English. He also realized he had always been curious of how airplanes fly, so he set his mind to studying to become an aircraft mechanic and moved to Seattle. Je enjoys his work here at Galvin because the hands-on experience allows him to learn much more than his school studies allowed. He likes the challenge of working on aircraft and feels proud when he completes a difficult project.
